Usak was one of the
most famous carpet regions in Turkey. It's carpets filled the great halls
of palaces in Istanbul and across Asia Minor. However, in the early 1900s,
the region stopped making carpets.A
few years ago, the Turkish Government began a project resurrecting the
traditional carpet making craft in the area. All of these carpets
are made with top quality natural dyes.They
were made for being used palaces and thousands of mosques through out
Anatolian villages due to their high durability.Usak carpets also known as
“Holbein Carpets “ are the carpets that greatly influenced painters
of the Renaissance era.
